Gaussian Splatting | First Test
A Drone and 200 Stills
I've been playing with some new technology called Gaussian Splatting. It essentially uses pictures to create a 3d scene out of anything. I've been chomping at the bit to try this.
They can be used in a number of 3d editors so you can have complete control of the scene and can add in other elements.
My focus for the test was the church and building next to it.
I wasn't able to get to it until night, so I had to use my drone's night mode on the camera. Kind of an interesting effect. I'm posting my second try with better light soon.
You can pan, zoom, and move around the scene in the preview below.

If you are on a phone: pinch to zoom in or out, drag to orbit, two fingers to move forward or backwards.
